New MySQL Enterprise with Query Analyzer Boosts Database Application Performance

Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced a major new version of its MySQL Enterprise™ subscription service to help corporate users dramatically improve the speed and uptime of their MySQL™ database applications. MySQL Enterprise subscribers now have access to Sun's new MySQL Query Analyzer tool for monitoring query performance to accurately pinpoint and correct problem SQL code -- in addition to MySQL Enterprise's regular software updates and 24x7 production technical support.

Thirty-day trial subscriptions for the new MySQL Enterprise service, including MySQL Query Analyzer, are now available free-of-charge from www.mysql.com/trials.

MySQL Conference & Expo Opens Call for Participation

O'Reilly Media has opened the Call for Participation for the 2009 MySQL Conference & Expo, scheduled for April 20-23, in Santa Clara, California.

Conference program chair Colin Charles and the program committee invite proposals for conference sessions, panel discussions, and tutorials. More than 2,000 attendees are expected to participate in over 120 sessions at next year's event.

Proposals can be submitted here. The deadline runs through October 22, 2008.

Co-presented by O'Reilly Media and Sun Microsystems, the MySQL Conference & Expo is the largest gathering of MySQL developers, users, and DBAs worldwide. The event reflects MySQL's wide-ranging appeal and capabilities.
